The Champaign-based band The Beauty Shop was announced for a headlining show at The Accord (The HighDive) in Champaign, Ill. on January 17, 2016.
The Champaign-based Americana band broke up in 2008 and is regarded as one of the best bands out of the Central Illinois area in the past decade.
When announcing the band’s end in 2008, frontmann John Hoeffleur said, “I’ll leave the door open to the band being reborn somehow, but I don’t see it as particularly likely.”
Tickets for the show are $10 and Rebecca Rego & the Trainmen will play in the show’s supporting slot.
For word on the HighDive’s name and ownership change:
Champaign-Urbana blog SmilePolitely announced earlier today the HighDive will change its name to The Accord and assume new ownership in 2016, and creative direction is being taken over by Ward Gollings and Seth Fein – SmilePolitely‘s founder and the founder of the Pygmalion Festival.
CORRECTION: This story was fixed to say Ward Gollings and Seth Fein are creative directors, not owners of The Accord.
