Featured Illinois Shows: Nov. 2 – Nov. 8

Here are some shows to check out around Illinois this week:

DIY Venue

La Dispute / Pity Sex / Wildhoney

Double Door (Chicago, Ill.)
6 p.m. | $22 | Monday, November 2

From Ghost-Track writer TJ Kliebhan:

La Dispute is coming to Chicago touring off 2014’s successful “Rooms of the House”. The veteran mid-western emo band who moves back and fourth between spoken-word and screaming should be playing a lively set. They are being supported by Pity Sex who use distortion and lush reverb to create pop hooks while maintaining expansive noisy instrumentals. Opening the show will be Wildhoney who should remind listeners of tracks Bilinda Butcher sings on any My Bloody Valentine record.

Ocean Days / Teenage Rage / Mitar
High-Hat Club (Chicago, Ill.)
10 p.m. | 21+ | $7 | Saturday, November 7
Coming off of the release of his Emerald EP  not two weeks ago, emo-acoustic act Mitar is set to open a show this Saturday at the High-Hat Club. Headlining the show that night are Ocean Days, a twinkle-folk three-piece from Chicago. Rounding out the lineup for that night is the southern-rock influenced folk band Teenage Rage. What better way to spend a fall night in Chicago by watching three local folk acts while enjoying your favorite craft beer?
