STREAM: “Sober Enough” – Kenna Mae

kenna mae coverCentral Illinois singer-songwriter Kenna Mae will be releasing her upcoming album Blue Darlin this Saturday, October 10.

You can stream “Strong Enough,” the first track off the LP here:

Kenna Mae will be celebrating the release of her album with two shows on Saturday at the Iron Post in Urbana, Ill. You can pre-order the album here.

“Sober Enough” shows Mae’s songwriting lend itself to its country influences, utilizing a pedal steel (played by Bob Watson). The full band (Watson, Tyler “Big Cat” Bundy, and Matt Yeates) offers a glimpse into the full-sound Mae can bring on the record, as opposed to the stripped-down solo track previously heard¬†on “Trash,” the only other song debuted prior to Blue Darlin’s release.

This track gives us a peek at what could be the best country record to come out of not just Central Illinois, but the whole state in 2015. But we’ll know for sure when we can hear the whole thing this Saturday.
