Here are some shows to check out around Illinois this week:
Ghost Track Featured Show
The Black Sheep Cafe (Springfield, Ill.)
7 p.m. | $5 | Friday, Sept. 18
Springfield’s all-ages DIY venue is celebrating 10 years this Friday, pulling out a lineup of local favorites Our Lady, Looming, Soap Scum, and new noise project Unicon Communications. There’s also a surprise band yet to be announced for the show. The venue will also be drawing names for its second-annual Band Lotto (randomly drawing names and piecing bands together for a show later on at the venue). There’s always something to look forward to at The Black Sheep and this is another show not to miss out on.
Mike N Molly’s (Champaign, Ill.)
8 p.m. | $5 | Thursday, Sept. 17
Mike N Molly’s monthly installment highlights collections of singer-songwriters from the Champaign-Urbana area. This month’s showcase features Tara Terra‘s Alleya Weibel, Michael Carpenter (Decadents), Luke Wilson, Fiona Kimble, and Andy Moreillion. Headlining the show and fitting to be the most anticipated set, Weibel recently announced she was branching off to work on a solo project outside of Tara Terra focused around her work on the violin.
