REVIEW: Invalids, Space Blood, Panucci’s Pizza, Recreational Drugs @ Quenchers (8.22.15)

invalids, space blood, panuchi pizza, recreational drugs edits-024Space Blood returned to Chicago on their intergalactic journey this Saturday. It turns out they were not finished brainwashing their gentile audience at Quenchers from their show with Giraffes? Giraffes! earlier this month. But don’t worry, the only concepts they implanted into us were that congo lines are fun, and that you should drink a lot of Malort. Headlining the show were Invalids. They graciously played their latest show ever for us. The math-rock band is currently on tour from New Jersey with Pannucci’s Pizza, a math-punk band that loves pizza and alternate tunings from Pennsylvania. Opening the night were Recreational Drugs, the side project of Matthew Frank (Their / They’re / There, Lifted Bells) & Joshua Sparks (Into It. Over It.)
