Error Records Closing in September

hockey 2Error Records, Champaign-Urbana’s DIY record store and all-ages venue, will be soon closing.

Owner and founder Nathan Landolt made the announcement Monday morning.

“Error Records has had an incredible impact on me over the past two and a half years and I leave it in fond memories,” Landolt said. “There are countless people who have helped along the way. Without any of you, this would not have been possible.”

The venue’s final show will be on Saturday, August 29. The store will close on Wednesday, September 30.

New owner Jesse Grubbs will be taking over the space to open See You CD & Vinyl.

Landolt’s storeĀ opened in 2013 as a way to provide for an all-ages space for bands to play in the CU area. Landolt previously threw house shows at his Error House (then renamed Terror House) location in Champaign. The venue was host to the first Skeletal Lightning Fest in 2013

“It’s been a pleasure getting to know so many wonderful people from around the world because of this little shop,” Landolt said. “I’m proud to say that Error Records had an awesome run and I wouldn’t change a thing.”
