Here are some shows to check out around Illinois this week:
Ghost Track Featured Show
Coaster / Victor Shores / Secret Stuff / Alleys / Market
Downstairs @ Subterranean (Chicago, Ill.)
7 p.m. | $8 | Monday, August 10
Join Coaster as they say farewell to Tom and Michael. This week they play their last shows together! Catch them Monday night at Subterranean. Matt and Seth will continue to keep Coaster.. well… coasting with a new EP in the works. Joining them are emo bands Victor Shores (Minneapolis), Secret Stuff (Nashville), Alleys (Buffalo), and Market.
The Black Sheep Cafe (Springfield, Ill.)
6:30 p.m. | $8 advance/$10 at door | Friday, August 14
Looming will be releasing their debut full-length album this Friday night at The Black Sheep Cafe. The Springfield-based band has been gaining traction ever since the release of their self-titled EP back in 2013, ultimately leading to the band signing with No Sleep Records for their debut LP Nailbiter. To top it off, Looming will release the album at what will likely be a jam-packed show at the town’s most famous DIY venue – a homecoming and celebration of all sorts for the Central Illinois scene. You can buy tickets in advance here.
Laverne / The Bribes / Cut Worms / Lochness Mobsters
Ratt House (Chicago, Ill.)
8 p.m. | Sunday, August 16
Chicago band Laverne (former members of Pinebocks) make their debut. Bringing the blues that night is Chicago band The Bribes. Rounding out the show is Cut Worms and Lochness Mobsters (TX).
