Black Sheep Cafe Announces 10th Anniversary Show

bxs10yearflier2_4Central Illinois’ most famous DIY-friendly venue, The Black Sheep Cafe, will be hosting its 10-year anniversary show on Sept. 18, the venue announced late Thursday night.

The five-band lineup is Springfield-inclusive, including Our Lady, Looming, Soap Scum, Unicorn Communications, and a surprise band that will be announced at a later date.

The Black Sheep Cafe has been a staple in the Midwest DIY scene for close to a decade, regularly hosting touring bands from around the country while helping sustain the Springfield music scene and playing an enormous role in its growth as one of the most active music scenes in the state. The venue has already had a busy summer, hosting its third-annual Dumb Fest (Dumb Fest 3D), in addition to its eighth Black Sheep Fest in late July.

Looming will be releasing its debut LP via No Sleep Records on August 14 at Black Sheep Cafe, while Our Lady has a new record coming out soon via Mayfly Records.

The Black Sheep Cafe’s 10-year anniversary show will cost just $5 and starts at 7 p.m. on Sept. 18.
